Jamie Carragher says he still cannot see Leicester winning the Premier League despite their 2-1 win over Chelsea on Monday Night Football.

Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez got the goals for the Foxes as they took all three points at the King Power Stadium against the struggling champions.

The result moves the Foxes back to the top of the table, two points ahead of Arsenal and three clear of Manchester City.

But, even with nearly half of the season played, Carragher does not think they will challenge for the title come May.

"I still can't see them winning the Premier League," he said. "It would have to be five or six games from the end of the season and they are still top of the league.

"You still don't expect as the months go on that they can keep this run going and that Mahrez, Vardy and (N'Golo) Kante will stay fit. They are probably the three best players in the Premier League.

MNF's Jamie Carragher and Frank Lampard discuss whether table-topping Leicester have a realistic shot at winning the Premier League

"The January window is a difficult one, do they think: "We have a right go at this to guarantee top four or even have a run at the title?" But could bringing in signings upset the apple cart? It seems such a settled team and they all know what they are doing, so it could be an awkward month for them."

Jose Mourinho says Chelsea's chances of making the top four have gone

In Vardy they have the division's top scorer while Mahrez has been one of the standout players of the season so far.

But three-time Premier League winner Frank Lampard also thinks a top-four finish is more likely than a title win.

"I can't see them quite staying the distance but top four is definitely there for them now if they carry on playing the way they are," he said.

Jamie Carragher and MNF guest Frank Lampard assess Riyad Mahrez's performance against Chelsea. Is he the player of the season so far?

"It's important that they keep their players in January. People might come in for Vardy and Mahrez, but if the players are smart they will stay where they are. They are playing great football, the club's got momentum and if they get into the top four it would be an incredible story.

"We are all waiting for them to start losing games, it's almost been too good to true. But they impressed me throughout the team and the story goes on. There is a togetherness and spirit about the club."
