Roma missed the opportunity to go top of Serie A as Mattia Destro's late penalty helped Bologna escape with a 2-2 draw at home on Saturday evening.

Moroccan-born full-back Adam Masina gave the Rossoblu the lead before second-half penalties from Bosnian duo Miralem Pjanic and on-loan forward Edin Dzeko put the visitors in front.

But Vassilis Torosidis' reckless challenge on Sunderland loanee Emanuele Giaccherini gave former Roma forward Destro the opportunity to haunt his old club from the penalty spot.

Destro duly obliged to tuck home the penalty to help Bologna leapfrog Genoa into 15th place while the Giallorossi move up to second, level on points with third-placed Inter Milan and leaders Fiorentina.

In the late kick-off, AC Milan's torrid run against Juventus continued as the Serie A champions secured their third league win in a row with a 1-0 victory.

Milan, who arrived in Turin on a five-game unbeaten run, have now lost six consecutive Serie A games to the Bianconeri as Paulo Dybala's second-half goal was the difference between the two sides.

Dybala broke the deadlock after 65 minutes when Paul Pogba 's lofted pass was collected by the overlapping Alex Sandro on the left and the Brazilian's cross was chested down by Dybala before he smashed home past Donnarumma.

The Rossoneri were stale in attack but Gianluigi Buffon had to be alert in stoppage time to make his first save of game as he parried Alessio Cerci's low shot.

The win sees Juventus leapfrog their opponents into sixth place while Milan drop to seventh.
