Jamie Vardy's top five goals: Leicester and England striker's best of 2015/16 season so far

Jamie Vardy of England celebrates scoring his team's second goal against Germany

Jamie Vardy added another stunning goal to his collection with a cheeky flick in England's 3-2 win over Germany.

The Leicester striker - on as a second-half sub - pulled England back to 2-2 with a smart finish from Nathaniel Clyne's cross.

But where does the strike rank among his best goals of the season?

Vardy's goal in Berlin was his 20th of 2015/16, so there are plenty to choose from, but here we pick out five of his most impressive efforts…

1 - Liverpool - 2 February 2016

Vardy himself reckons this 25-yard dipping long-range volley against Liverpool is the best of his career and it would be hard to argue with that. A wonder goal from the right flank, which gave Simon Mignolet no chance.

"I was looking all game and Simon Mignolet's been quite far off his line. As soon as Riyad [Mahrez] has played it through and it has bounced quite high, I took my chance and luckily it has gone on top of him."

Vardy only managed five goals in 2014/15 but this strike against Manchester United meant he'd scored in 11 consecutive matches, breaking Ruud van Nistelrooy's Premier League record.

Christian Fuchs provided a perfectly weighted through ball to match Vardy's smart run between the United backline and the striker drilled past on-rushing David de Gea to set a new record Premier League scoring streak.

A goal only a striker brimming with confidence could score. Vardy had gone four international appearances without a goal but got off the mark for his country in superb style, with a finish reminiscent of Gianfranco Zola's classic for Chelsea against Norwich.

Vardy beat his marker to Clyne's low cross and produced an outrageous flick at the near-post to beat Manuel Neuer.

Vardy capped a trademark Leicester counter-attack to help them to victory against West Brom in October. The forward received the ball with his back to goal in his own half, flicked a first-time pass to Danny Drinkwater and sprinted into West Brom half to receive the return.

The striker's pace took him away from the defenders frantically trying to chase him down and a powerful finish into the far corner helped Leicester to a 3-2 win.

Vardy epitomises Leicester's never-say-die spirit this season and his late, late equaliser against Southampton was evidence of that.

The Foxes were two down after 37 minutes but Vardy pulled one back with a header from close range with 24 minutes to play and then burst onto a Mahrez through ball in injury time and made no mistake with his one-on-one opportunity, blasting into the roof of the net.
