Mexico got the point they needed to avoid Argentina at the Copa America - and it was a brilliant individual goal which set up a clash with Chile.

The Mexicans were 1-0 down to Venezuela after manager Juan Carlos Osorio played a largely second-string team ahead of the quarter-finals.

That meant they were on course to play last year's runners-up Argentina but Jesus Manuel Corona intervened to give them a different draw in the last eight instead.

He picked up the ball 40 yards from goal before going on a mazy run which took him past five players and shooting low into the net.

That gave the Mexicans the result they needed to stay top of their group and they will face holders Chile in the quarter-finals.

Venezuela, meanwhile, take on the Argentines and will be seen as a good outside bet by many after they knocked Uruguay out in their previous game.
