David Prutton's EFL predictions: Sky Bet League One and League Two

Prutton's Predictions

David Prutton returns with his predictions ahead of this weekend's Sky Bet EFL matches...

But who is our resident expert tipping for victory? Read on to find out...

Barnet v Coventry, Saturday from 12.15pm - Live on Sky Sports Football

Barnet have been in a bit of a rut lately with three straight league defeats ending what was a fairly positive start to the campaign. Rossi Eames will hope his players can turn it on in front of the Sky Sports cameras though.

That being said, I think Coventry will have too much for them and I reckon they'll scrape an away win.

Prutton predicts: 1-2 with Jodi Jones to score first (33/1 with Sky Bet)

Gillingham v Portsmouth, Sunday from 2.15pm - Live on Sky Sports Football

Gillingham have been on a dreadful run of form and it's no surprise that they find themselves so far down the table and in a bit of trouble already. There's an awful long way to go but they need to turn things around quickly.

I can't see that happening on Sunday, though, and I fancy Portsmouth to head to Priestfield and get the victory.

MK Dons v Bradford, Saturday 3pm

MK Dons started slowly this season but they're starting to build up a little bit of a run of form under Robbie Neilson, and their defence has been rock solid lately with three straight clean sheets in the league.

Bradford have been on a decent run lately, though, and I think an away win is on the cards here.

Prutton predicts: 0-2 (11/1 with Sky Bet)

Oxford v AFC Wimbledon, Saturday 3pm

Who would have thought Oxford would turn up and thump Peterborough last week? Especially after such a poor run of defeats. You just never know what's going to happen in this league and that was proof of it.

Although I think I'm going to have to go with the home team here as I think confidence will be quite low at AFC Wimbledon, who will want to find their way out of the relegation zone swiftly.

Prutton predicts: 1-0 (13/2 with Sky Bet)

Plymouth v Fleetwood, Saturday 3pm

Needless to say, it's been a dreadful start for Plymouth. Bottom of the table, four points adrift of safety and without a win in their last nine games.

Fleetwood have dipped a little lately but I still can't see anything but an away win at Home Park on Saturday, although it won't be too straightforward.

Prutton predicts: 1-2 (8/1 with Sky Bet)

Scunthorpe v Wigan, Saturday 3pm

Wigan were one of the favourites for promotion before the start of the season and they're starting to live up to that tag, but the trip to Scunthorpe will be a difficult one for them to hurdle.

Scunthorpe haven't quite hit the heights they reached last year yet, but they're still lurking around the play-offs and the scalp of Wigan would be great for morale. That being said, I think this will be an away win.

Prutton predicts: 1-2 (17/2 with Sky Bet)

Highlights of the Sky Bet League One match between Wigan and Walsall

Walsall v Shrewsbury, Saturday 3pm

What can I say about Shrewsbury? No one would have fancied them to have started so well but they're flying high right now and are still unbeaten. Every week they seem to pull out a win from somewhere and it would be impossible to go against them right now.

Walsall are languishing in lower mid-table and they'll need to start picking up a few points soon if they want to make something of their season, but I can't see anything but a defeat for them on Saturday.

Prutton predicts: 0-1 (15/2 with Sky Bet)

Notts County v Forest Green, Saturday 3pm

Top vs bottom in Sky Bet League Two! This will be another real lesson for Forest Green as they adjust to life in the EFL. Mark Cooper will be starting to get a little concerned now they haven't even scored in their last three in the league.

Notts County, meanwhile, have been fantastic and I have to go with the form book here. Anything else would be a real surprise.

Prutton predicts: 3-1 (11/1 with Sky Bet)
