David Prutton's EFL predictions

Prutton's Predictions

David Prutton returns with his predictions ahead of the midweek Sky Bet EFL matches.

But who is our resident expert tipping for victory? Read on to find out...

Sheffield United v Aston Villa, Tuesday - Live on Sky Sports Football from 7.30pm

Now this is a tough one to call. Sheffield United appear to be finally over their mid-season slump and will fancy their chances against Aston Villa, despite their excellent recent form under Steve Bruce.

The reverse fixture between these two saw a frantic, entertaining draw, and I fancy a similar result at Bramall Lane on Tuesday night.

Prutton predicts: 2-2 with Scott Hogan to score first (100/1 with Sky Bet)

Birmingham v Sunderland, Tuesday 7.45pm

This is a massive game at St Andrew's. Both these sides are in the relegation zone and desperate for a victory to boost their chances of survival.

A defeat would not be terminal by any means, as it's still far too early in the season for that, but it would provide a huge boost for either side if they can claim the win. For some reason, though, I just have a feeling that this will end goalless.

Hull v Leeds, Tuesday 7.45pm

Beating Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup was a real boost for Hull after such a dismal run of form, but now they've got to start scoring goals in the Championship as well, which they simply haven't been doing.

They meet a Leeds who have slipped away from the play-offs again and are in need of a win themselves to recapture some form. It's a good time to play Leeds, however, and I think Hull could nick this one.

Prutton predicts: 1-0 (6/1 with Sky Bet)

Millwall v Derby, Tuesday 7.45pm

Derby are unbeaten in nine in the league and will be feeling good heading to Millwall, but there's little doubt that they face a real test of their credentials at The Den.

Millwall's home record has been excellent this season and they finally secured a first away win at Leeds last week, and they'll fancy their chances of another scalp again on Tuesday. Both teams will go for it and I fancy a score draw.

Prutton predicts: 2-2 (14/1 with Sky Bet)

Luton v Wycombe, Tuesday 7.45pm

Luton have found themselves in a fantastic position now to go and win promotion from League Two, but it's still too soon for them to get careless and think they're guaranteed a spot in the top three.

Nathan Jones certainly won't allow that, however, and Wycombe are another side hoping to gatecrash the automatic spots following an excellent run of form. Score draw.

Prutton predicts: 2-2 (14/1 with Sky Bet)
