David Prutton's EFL predictions

Prutton's Predictions

David Prutton returns with his predictions ahead of the midweek Sky Bet EFL matches.

But who is our resident expert tipping for victory? Read on to find out...

Brentford v Cardiff, Tuesday 7.45pm - Live on Sky Sports Football

Cardiff just keep on winning. It's becoming a habit for them now and it's getting harder to back against Neil Warnock's side.

It feels like Brentford's slim play-off hopes are slipping away now after that defeat at Millwall on Saturday. They'll still put up a fight against Cardiff but I feel like the Bluebirds will edge this one.

Prutton predicts: 1-2 with Junior Hoilett to score first (40/1 with Sky Bet)

Aston Villa v QPR, Tuesday 7.45pm

What a victory that was for Aston Villa on Saturday. They were superb against Wolves and it was a big statement from them in their continued pursuit of automatic promotion.

QPR did well to battle past Sunderland at the weekend but a trip to Villa Park while the home side are in this kind of form is a daunting proposition. I can't see past a Villa win.

Sheffield United v Burton, Tuesday 7.45pm

The gap is starting to open up between Sheffield United and the top six, but whatever happens between now and the end of the campaign it's still been a fantastic season for them.

Burton have only scored once in their last six games now and you do worry for Nigel Clough's side. They'll show plenty of endeavour as ever but this is a home win for me.

Prutton predicts: 2-1 (15/2 with Sky Bet)

Wolves v Reading, Tuesday 7.45pm

All of a sudden we have a title race on again in the Championship! It seemed like it would be a procession for Nuno's men until a few weeks ago, but one win in five has allowed their rivals right back into it.

However, this game feels like an absolute banker for Wolves at the moment. It's hard to believe that this time last year the Royals were pushing for the play-offs and Wolves were scratching around just a couple of points above the drop zone.

Prutton predicts: 2-0 (9/2 with Sky Bet)

MK Dons v Rotherham, Tuesday 7.45pm

Rotherham had been looking unstoppable in their promotion push in League One until being shocked by Rochdale on Saturday. They've been a fairly streaky side under Paul Warne this season and you wonder what that result will do for their momentum.

MK Dons are in no kind of form whatsoever at the moment though and seem to be heading down towards the trap door. I fancy Rotherham to get back to winning ways here.

Prutton predicts: 0-1 (11/2 with Sky Bet)

Exeter v Yeovil, Tuesday 7.45pm

Exeter have a few games in hand on the sides above them and Tuesday night represents a good chance for them to push back towards the automatic promotion places.

Yeovil have lost three on the bounce but it would take an absolute collapse from them to end up in real relegation trouble this season. Home win for me.

Prutton predicts: 1-0 (11/2 with Sky Bet)
