Toronto FC beat Montreal Impact 5-2 to reach MLS Cup Final against Seattle

Toronto FC scored twice in extra-time to beat Canadian rivals the Montreal Impact and book a place in the MLS Cup final for the first time in club history.

Goals in the first half of the extra half an hour from Benoit Cheyrou and Tosaint Ricketts gave Toronto a 5-2 win on the night and a 7-5 aggregate win.

Trailing 3-2 from the first leg, Toronto were in early trouble when Dominic Oduro fired the Impact in front with 24 minutes gone.

But Armando Cooper's first Toronto goal levelled it eight minutes before the break and Jozy Altidore headed them in front from a tight angle just before the break.

Ignacio Piatti scored a scrappy equaliser eight minutes after the restart but a towering header from Nick Hagglund in the 68th minute levelled the tie on aggregate to set up the extra period.

Toronto had all the momentum in extra-time, with Cheyrou heading them in front in the 98th minute and Ricketts effectively sealing the win from close range moments later.
