Leaders Wigan will check on the fitness of Reece Wabara and Craig Morgan ahead of Saturday's Sky Bet League 1 home clash with Coventry.

Wabara is nursing a hamstring injury after the 5-1 win at Shrewsbury last weekend, a match Morgan missed due to a similar issue.

Sanmi Odelusi (foot) and Kevin McNaughton (hamstring) both played for the development squad this week but the Coventry game looks too early for their first-team return, while Reece James (ankle) also remains unavailable.

The Latics are aiming to extend their unbeaten run to a 20th match with a fifth straight win.

James Maddison is ready to return for Coventry after missing their last three games with a hip injury.

Midfielder Andy Rose and forward Darius Henderson are ready to return to training but are unlikely to be ready in time for the trip to the north west.

Jordan Willis is also closing in on a comeback after a serious knee injury and has started full training again.
