Jordan Nobbs’ first-half double helped Arsenal to a 3-0 win over Notts County Ladies as they won the Continental Tyres Cup for the fourth time in five seasons.

Substitute Chioma Ubogagu added a stoppage-time third in Sunday's final at Rotherham's New York Stadium, but the game was overshadowed by a controversial first-half red card for County centre-back Laura Bassett.

Nobbs opened the scoring with a wonderful individual effort after bursting down the right flank in the 26th minute before firing across County goalkeeper Carly Telford.

Bassett was dismissed for a tackle on Arsenal's Vicky Losada eight minutes later although replays appeared to suggest the England defender had in fact won the ball.

Nobbs was on target again in the second half with one of her trademark long-distance strikes before Ubogagu scored from close-range to round off the win for Arsenal.

A crowd of more than 5000 people attended the final which saw Arsenal build on an impressive record which has seen them win a trophy every year since 2004.
