The striker has been assessed this week but Villa could be unchanged as they hunt a seventh straight league win.

Birmingham will recall David Davis and Maikel Kieftenbeld for the trip to Villa. The midfielders were rested for the 4-1 FA Cup extra-time defeat to Huddersfield as they are on nine bookings but they will return on Sunday.

Jonathan Grounds is out with a knee injury and Jacques Maghoma has missed the last two games with a groin injury so will be assessed. Boss Steve Cotterill is also mindful of fatigue after playing 120 minutes against Huddersfield on Tuesday.

Prutton's prediction

Now this game has come at a very interesting time! The first Second City derby of the season was a bit of a non-event and both teams appeared happy just to not lose, but it's a little bit different now with Aston Villa going full tilt for automatic promotion.

Birmingham have been on a great run lately to haul themselves away from the drop zone, and there's no doubt that Steve Cotterill would be delighted with a point at Villa Park.

David Prutton predicts: 1-1 with Scott Hogan to score first (25/1 with Sky Bet)
