Aston Villa have striker Ross McCormack available to face Wigan after an ankle injury.

But Steve Bruce will be without defender Nathan Baker (groin) and goalkeeper Mark Bunn (knee) as Villa aim to recover from last week's 2-0 defeat to Leeds.

Defender Ritchie De Laet is out for the season after suffering a serious knee injury shortly after his summer arrival from Leicester.

Micah Richards continues to battle a calf injury while Mile Jedinak has escape suspension as his fifth booking of the season came after the yellow card amnesty on November 30. It means his slate is wiped clean in terms of punishments for five bookings.

Wigan defender Donervon Daniels could make his return to the Latics' match-day 18.

Daniels has not featured since August due to a knee injury but played 90 minutes of a development squad game last week.

Reece James (foot) and Alex Gilbey (ankle) remain sidelined.
