Huddersfield expect to welcome back Jonathan Hogg for their Sky Bet Championship home game with Norwich, live on Sky Sports 1 HD from 7.30pm on Wednesday.
Hogg has returned to training after initial fears he had fractured a bone in his neck during last month's defeat at Bristol City.
The midfielder's recovery is timely as Dean Whitehead serves a one-match ban after being sent off in the surprise weekend home defeat to Burton.
That loss means the Terriers lie 10 points behind second-placed Newcastle, albeit with a game in hand, but victory here would at least lift them back above Reading into third.
Chelsea loanees Kasey Palmer and Izzy Brown remain out, as does Sean Scannell, but Nahki Wells and Elias Kachunga could return to the starting line-up after recent knocks.
Norwich will make a late call on Wes Hoolahan, who missed the weekend defeat at Aston Villa with a thigh injury.
But Graham Dorrans (ankle), Matt Jarvis (hamstring) and Louis Thompson (Achilles) are all definitely out.
Youssouf Mulumbu is included in the travelling party after several weeks out with a thigh problem.
But defenders Mitchell Dijks and Ivo Pinto are both missing through suspension, the former completing a three-match ban and Pinto absent after his Villa red card.
