Brazilian defender Fabinho has signed a two-year contract extension with Monaco until 2021, the club announced on Friday.
The 22-year-old right back, who is a client of Portuguese super-agent Jorge Mendes, had been linked with a move to Manchester United over the summer but the deal never materialised.
Jose Mourinho is familiar with Fabinho having called him up to Real Madrid's first team in 2013 while he was playing for Real Madrid Castilla as a teenager.
Fabinho spent two seasons on loan at Monaco before joining permanently and signing a four-year deal in May 2015.
He scored eight goals last season, all from the penalty spot, and has scored four times already this season.
Fabinho made his fourth international appearance for Brazil in a friendly against Panama in May.
