Manchester City will be without Bacary Sagna for three weeks after he was injured while on international duty.
Sagna suffered a hamstring tear during the first half of France's 4-1 World Cup qualifying win over Bulgaria on Friday.
The veteran right-back was expected to be sidelined for at least a month, but scans have revealed the injury is not as bad as first feared.
However, Sagna will be unavailable for Everton's visit at the weekend, both Champions League matches with Barcelona and the derby clash with city rivals United in the EFL Cup.
The 33-year-old missed almost a month at the start of the season after injuring a hamstring in the the 5-0 win over Steau Bucharest in August.
Aguero, who is City's leading scoring with 11 goals in eight matches, has shaken off a calf problem and says he is ready to face Paraguay in their World Cup Qualifier on Tuesday.
