Joachim Low extends Germany contract until 2020

Germany manager Joachim Low has extended his contract with the world champions by two years until 2020.

The 56-year-old has been in the job since 2006, and led Germany to the 2014 World Cup title, beating Argentina 1-0 in the final in Rio de Janeiro.

They have reached at least the semi-finals in the last five major tournaments, with Low winning 94 of his 141 games in charge.

Low's previous contract had run to the 2018 World Cup in Russia and he will now lead the team's Euro 2020 campaign, DFB boss Reinhard Grindel said on Monday.

"Developing this team and these players and trying to take them to the highest level is a real joy," Low said on Monday.

Low's Germany are currently top of their World Cup 2018 Qualifying group with three wins out of three, and travel to San Marino in their next Group C clash on November 11.

His side got to the last four of Euro 2016 in France, losing 2-0 against the hosts in the semi-final.
