Mauricio Pochettino has ruled out Kevin Wimmer leaving Tottenham on loan in January and does not anticipate any business in or out of the club.

Reports in Germany last week claimed Wimmer was perhaps available for a temporary return to the Bundesliga, where he previously played for FC Koln.

Wimmer has hardly played for Spurs this season and said earlier in the campaign that he might look at his options in the New Year if he continued to miss out.

But Pochettino confirmed ahead of their trip to Watford on New Years Day: "We are not talking about that (Wimmer leaving on loan) internally. I am still very happy with him, he is still very young.

"When he brought him he was not only for the present but for the future. I don't expect that players will leave the squad in January, it makes no sense."

Pochettino once again dismissed the possible signings of Everton's Ross Barkley, Isco of Real Madrid and Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha - who have all been linked to Tottenham by the newspapers this month - as "rumours".

Spurs had an offer for Zaha rejected last summer and new Palace boss Sam Allardyce has said he has been given assurances by his chairman that there is no potential for losing Zaha next month.

And Pochettino said: "I don't expect to do some business, because I am happy with the squad that I have.

"I think it's not the right moment. Only if it's a person who will definitely benefit us - otherwise, no."

"I don't know where that rumour [about Barkley] has come from. It's not from myself or from my staff, that is for sure. Then if some people from the club created that rumour, I don't know, or if it's from outside.

"We cannot stop rumours, and we cannot confirm every time whether rumours are true or otherwise. We are very calm and consistent with our philosophy, and the way we are developing our game."
