Brighton are expected to make striker Glenn Murray's loan from Bournemouth a permanent transfer in the January window, according to Sky sources.

Murray, 33, has scored 15 goals in 24 appearances for the Seagulls so far this season, having joined on a season-long loan arrangement in the summer.

The veteran forward recently suggested he was keen to make a permanent move back to his former club, having left Brighton for Crystal Palace in 2011.

Murray said: "It's between the clubs. As far as Bournemouth was left towards the end of last season, I wasn't involved much and I don't think I'm too much in the gaffer's plans.

"So yes, it would be nice to get out and keep playing football."
