Liverpool have accepted a bid of £3.75m plus add-ons from Reading for centre-back Tiago Ilori, Sky sources understand.
The decision to join Jaap Stam's high-flying side, who sit third in the Sky Bet Championship, now rests with the player.
The London-born Portuguese youngster has struggled to nail down a place in Liverpool's first team since joining the club from Sporting Lisbon in 2013.
Ilori, who made his senior Sporting debut as an 18-year-old, has been restricted to three FA Cup appearances for the Reds during his time at Anfield, all of which came last season.
The 23-year-old has spent much of his Liverpool career on loan, with spells at Spanish side Granada, French outfit Bordeaux, and Championship side Aston Villa.
Ilori, who played with Tottenham's Eric Dier during his time at Sporting, is a Portugal youth international and represented his country in the men's football tournament at last summer's Rio Olympics.
