Cristiano Ronaldo may have already been crowned as this year's Ballon d'Or winner, but he can clinch an awards double with FIFA's prize to recognise the world's best player.
The winner of the Best FIFA Men's Player 2016 award will be announced at the ceremony for the Best FIFA Football Awards in Zurich on Monday, with a host of other prizes also to be decided.
Here's all you need to know about what's in store…
The ceremony gets underway at around 5.30pm, UK time, on Monday, January 9.
The final three-man shortlist for the men's prize was confirmed at the start of December, with Ronaldo going up against Barcelona's Lionel Messi and Atletico Madrid's Antoine Griezmann.
Ronaldo is the strong favourite having already picked up the Ballon d'Or award after helping Real Madrid and Portugal to Champions League and Euro 2016 glory respectively.
He faces tough competition from his old rival Messi, who enjoyed another spectacular year at Barcelona and scored a stunning free-kick goal on the eve of the tournament, and Griezmann, who was named Player of the Tournament at Euro 2016 after scoring six goals for France on their way to the final.
But expectations that Ronaldo could bag yet another gong have increased after Barcelona confirmed Messi would miss the ceremony "with the aim of prioritising preparations" for Wednesday's Copa del Rey clash with Athletic Bilbao.
There are eight prizes up for grabs at The Best FIFA Football Awards 2016, with best men's and women's prizes for players and coaches as well as a the FIFA Fair Play Award, the FIFA Puskas Award for the goal of the year, The FIFA Fan Award and the FIFA Fifpro World11 award.
The shortlist for the Best FIFA Men's Coach prize compiles of Claudio Ranieri, who guided Leicester to Premier League glory, Fernando Santos, the man behind Portugal's Euro 2016 triumph, and Zinedine Zidane, who won the Champions League with Real Madrid.
It's 25 per cent a public vote, and another 25 per cent of the voting goes to selected members of the world's media. Another quarter goes to each national team coach, with the final quarter goes to national team captains.
The voting is based on performances in the calendar year from November 20, 2015 to November 22, 2016.
