It's Deadline Day, and clubs across Europe are trying to seal last-minute January transfer window deals.

Our friends at Football Whispers have scoured the European press and picked out the biggest and best pieces of transfer gossip.

Italy

Juventus forward Paulo Dybala appears to be a player in demand. Just days after publicly snubbing a Maximiliano Allegri handshake, Gazzetta dello Sport are claiming he'll be at the centre of a tug-of-war in the summer between Real Madrid and Barcelona.

He could follow in the footsteps of current Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane and trade in the black and white of Juventus for the white of Madrid. As things stand, a potential move to the Bernabeu is rated as a 1.2 on the Football Whispers Index.

According to Sky Italia, Chelsea Technical Director Michael Emenalo is in Italy to seal a deal for striker Andrea Belotti. The Torino forward has bagged 14 goals in 19 appearances this term, rapidly establishing himself as an elite finisher and he has already been the subject of an alleged bid from Arsenal earlier this month.

Sticking with Sky Italia and Chelsea, the Premier League side made a loan approach for Inter Milan winger Jonathan Biabiany. However, the 28-year-old turned them down as he wants a permanent move if he is to leave San Siro.

France

Hoffenheim's Fabian Schar had been tipped for a move to Bordeaux but L'Equipe reports the deal is now off after the Ligue 1 outfit couldn't agree on a loan fee for the centre-back. The Switzerland defender has made just the three starts this season and doesn't appear to be in manager Julian Nagelsmann's plans.

"I know that [Patrick] Kluivert and Eden Hazard played here," he said. "They are big names and that proves Lille are a big club."

Germany

According to SportBild, Schalke are still uncertain whether Sead Kolasinac will be at the club when the transfer window slams shut. Premier League leaders Chelsea have jumped ahead of Liverpool, West Bromwich Albion and Juventus in the queue for the player.

Portugal

Real Madrid and Barcelona target Gelson Martins is set to sign a new contract with Sporting Lisbon, according to A Bola. The Portuguese club want to tie the 21-year-old down, amid interest from some of Europe's elite clubs.

The new deal would see him extend his club and see an increase in his wages. Will that really stop the La Liga juggernauts from making a move though?
