The European transfer window may be shut, but that does not mean the foreign media is not speculating about the future of players.

Our friends at Football Whispers have looked at Europe's top publications to see what's making people on the continent talk this morning.

Spain

Activate "Operation De Gea". Real Madrid are already making moves to bring Manchester United's David De Gea to the Spanish capital in the summer. They are trying to work out what it would take to sign the former Atletico Madrid shot-stopper and believe he could be available for around €65m (£55.3m). (Marca)

Barcelona have been dealt a blow after former Liverpool and West Ham midfielder, Javier Mascherano, was ruled out of their Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain. He will be out for between 15-20 days. (Marca)

Germany

If he wants to win trophies, Arsenal's Mesut Ozil has been told that he needs to leave the Emirates for Bayern Munich, according to Michael Ballack.

"Mesut is an amazing player," he said. "He knows that he is one of the undisputed stars at Arsenal. A lot of clubs would love to have him. But if he wants to win a major title, he has a bigger chance to achieve that at Bayern." (Sport Bild)

A target for Arsenal, Chelsea and Juventus, left-back Sead Kolasinac has been urged by Schalke CEO Christian Heidel to make a decision on his future. The defender's contract expires in the summer and if he is not going to stay at the Bundesliga club, they want to know so they can begin to make plans for next season. (Sport Bild)

Italy

Despite being sixth in Serie A and six points behind third-placed Napoli, Inter Milan have ambitions to return to the Champions League and they have two names on their hit-list to achieve their target: Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez and Sergio Aguero at Manchester City. The Italian giants believe they can pair one of them with Mauro Icardi and return to greatness. (Corriere dello Sport)

If Diego Costa leaves Chelsea in the summer, the two names on Antonio Conte's wish-list are Everton striker Romelu Lukaku and Torino's Andrea Belotti. Both have similar buy-out clauses, but the Blues may have more chance of landing the Italian forward. (Corriere dello Sport)

France

Manchester United flop Memphis Depay scored for the first time for Lyon on Wednesday, coming off the bench to add the fourth goal. "The most important thing is to have won," he said. "Scoring my first goal was a pleasure. It was a good feeling. I still have to adapt to the team, the way we play, which we attack and defend. I work there and it's going well." (L'Equipe)

Another player to open his account on Wednesday was Dimitri Payet. After returning to Marseille from West Ham United, he needed a deflection, but his free-kick helped OM beat Guingamp 2-0 at the Stade Velodrome. "Scoring a goal freed me up - when you change clubs, it's good to be decisive as soon as possible," he said. "Now I can work calmly." (Canal Plus)

Portugal

Finally the British perception of Hull City's new boss Marco Silva has changed. People now believe, despite their league position, that the Portuguese boss may actually be able to save the club from relegation. Wins over Liverpool and Manchester United, plus a draw at Old Trafford, have taken the former Olympiakos boss from a joke to a serious contender. (Record)
