Yaya Toure's agent 'knows nothing' about reported Man City contract extension

Manchester City

Yaya Toure's agent knows nothing about the midfielder being offered a new contract at Manchester City and says he has not heard anything from the club for two months.

Toure's City contract runs out in six weeks and there have been reports that he will be offered a new deal.

According to Dimitri Seluk, Toure would find it difficult to turn down a new City deal if he was offered one, but the midfielder will have a long list of clubs to choose from in the summer.

"We have not heard anything," Seluk said. "I read a lot of stories about a new City contract but I know nothing about this. The last time I spoke to anyone at City was in Monaco in March.

"We have many possibilities. Yaya already has offers from different clubs. They are very interesting offers.

"There are clubs who have already qualified for next season's Champions League, but for Yaya, Manchester City is a very special club. He has given his heart to the club and he would find it difficult to leave City."

Toure appeared to be on his way out of City after he was left out of the club's Champions League squad at the start of the season.

He was not part of Pep Guardiola's plans until November when he scored twice in the 2-1 win at Crystal Palace. Since then he has re-established himself in City's midfield and his agent says Toure is still good enough to play at the very highest level.

"At the moment Yaya is just concentrating on getting City into the Champions League. That is his only focus. At the end of his contract, we will look at the offers he has," Seluk said.

"He wants to play in the Champions League next season but he would also play for an ambitious club who have big plans - a club who have a project."

Seluk was unwilling to reveal the names of the clubs who have approached him about Toure, but he did confirm he had heard nothing from West Ham.
