Alexandre Lacazette to wear Arsenal No 9 shirt

Arsenal unveil new signing Alexandre Lacazette at London Colney

New signing Alexandre Lacazette has been handed the No 9 shirt by Arsenal.

The France international flew out with Arsenal to Australia on Sunday after completing his club-record move from Lyon.

Lucas Perez, a £17m signing from Deportivo La Coruna last summer, wore the club's No 9 shirt last season but will wear No 28 this season.

Arsenal play two games in Sydney this week - against Sydney FC on Thursday and Western Sydney Wanderers on Sunday - before flying to Shanghai to take on Bayern Munich on July 19.

Both Lacazette and fellow new signing Sead Kolasinac, who will wear No 31, are expected to make their Arsenal debuts on Thursday.

"Lacazette will make his debut here, yes," said Arsene Wenger after arriving in Sydney. "On Thursday night he will certainly play a part in the game and in the other game as well. In the two games he will take part.

"We play football based on movement, technical qualities and mobility, and I believe that both of the new signings can integrate well into the team.

"One is a defender who can play on the flank and centrally, and one is a striker with a very good goal-scoring record, so I believe that they are great additions to the team. It's a good opportunity as well to have a first look at how well and how quickly they will integrate with the way we want to play."
