Tottenham concluded their pre-season campaign with a 2-0 victory over Serie A champions Juventus at Wembley Stadium.

Harry Kane opened the scoring with a header in the 10th minute and Christian Eriksen added a second seven minutes after half-time after receiving a Dele Alli pass and beating Gianluigi Buffon.

The victory at their home for the season might have been even more emphatic, but Kane and Moussa Sissoko both struck the woodwork, while Hugo Lloris made two fine saves to deny Juan Cuadrado and Paulo Dybala.

The only sour note for Mauricio Pochettino was an injury to right-back Kieran Trippier, who set up Kane's goal but limped off after 42 minutes.

Southampton gave themselves a boost ahead of next weekend's Premier League opener against Swansea City with a 2-0 victory over Sevilla.

Goals from Jack Stephens and Manolo Gabbiadini did the damage for Mauricio Pellegrino's team.

Stephens' first-half volley gave Saints the advantage going into the break, before Gabbiadini doubled the advantage with a neat finish eight minutes from time.
