Brighton have agreed terms over a club-record deal for Colombian winger Jose Izquierdo from Club Brugge.
Sky Sports News reported early on Thursday that the newly-promoted Seagulls were closing on the 25-year-old.
It is understood Brighton representatives met with the player on Wednesday night in a restaurant in Belgium to finalise the transfer, believed to be worth an initial £13.5m, potentially rising to £16m.
Brighton confirmed on Twitter that personal terms had been agreed.
The deal is subject to the player passing a medical - which has been slated for Thursday - and a work permit being granted.
Izquierdo has been capped twice by Colombia and has scored one international goal.
Brighton broke their club record earlier this week when they signed Davy Propper from PSV Eindhoven on Monday.
