Hull have rejected an improved £10m bid for Sam Clucas from Burnley.
Sky sources reported last week that the Tigers had rejected an initial offer for the 26-year-old's services who is believed to want a return to the Premier League.
The 26-year-old, who missed only one Premier League game last season, signed a three-year contract with the Championship side last season and it is understood the club do not want to lose the midfielder.
Clucas joined Hull from Chesterfield two years ago and helped them win promotion back to the top flight via the play-offs in his first year at the club, before scoring three goals in his debut campaign in the Premier League.
Hull claimed a 4-1 victory over Burton Albion at the KCOM Stadium on Saturday in their second fixture of the Championship season following a 1-1 draw against Aston Villa on the opening weekend.
