The Premier League is well underway, and the end of the transfer window is fast approaching.

SPAIN

Despite reported interest from Arsenal, Marco Asensio is set to receive a salary increase when he signs a new contract with Real Madrid, going from €3.5m-a-season to €4.5m after tax. The new contract will also include a €500m (£458.6m) release clause and will run to 2023. (Marca)

If Barcelona cannot land Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele they have identified former Manchester United midfielder Angel Di Maria and Nice's Jean Michael Seri as alternatives. (Sport)

Real Madrid have rejected a €75m (£68.8m) bid from Juventus for midfielder Mateo Kovacic. The Croatia international played both legs of the Spanish Super Cup and has been deemed 'not for sale' by the European champions. (AS)

FRANCE

Despite being on the verge of joining Paris Saint-Germain, Juan Foyth appears to have changed his mind and wants to sign for Tottenham. (L'Equipe)

Former Everton target Martin Terrier has joined Strasbourg on a season-long loan from Lille. The forward played for France in the U20 World Cup this summer. (L'Equipe)

Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness has spoken out about Barcelona's pursuit of Borussia Dortmund striker Ousmane Dembele. "If BVB receive 120, 130 or 150m," he says. "Then Dortmund is the winner and not the player, but it can't be the player who determines the price. I do not have respect for the club [Barcelona] anymore, to lead a player to break a contract, this is the lowest class." (Bild)

ITALY

AC Milan are closing in on the €25m (£22.9m) signing of Nikola Kalinic. The former Blackburn Rovers forward is in advanced talks with the Serie A club to become their new striker, following Carlos Bacca's loan move to Villarreal. (Gazzetta dello Sport)

Lazio will not be blackmailed in order to sell Chelsea target Keita Balde, says the club's president Claudio Lotito. He says the player wants a move to Juventus, but both Napoli and Milan are offering the Rome club double the money. (Gazzetta dello Sport)

Inter Milan would like to take Patrik Schick on loan from Sampdoria this summer. The forward failed a medical at Juventus earlier in the window, and now Inter would prefer not to buy him outright. Sampdoria will mull over the offer before making a decision. (Corriere dello Sport)
