Real Madrid are willing to offer striker Karim Benzema as a makeweight in order to land Tottenham's Harry Kane. The England international has been linked with a move to the European champions recently and it is reported that Zinedine Zidane views Kane as the perfect upgrade on Benzema. Real are willing to pay in excess of £100m plus Benzema for Kane, or £180m in cash. (El Gol Digital)

Meanwhile, Madrid regret not selling Manchester United target Gareth Bale last summer. The 28-year-old winger has been constantly linked with a move to Old Trafford in the last couple of years, with Jose Mourinho publicly declaring his admiration for the player, but it has never gone beyond speculation. Real president Florentino Perez regrets not selling Bale and making a more decisive effort to sign Kylian Mbappe, who joined Paris Saint-Germain on loan from Monaco. (Diario Gol)

Real Madrid do not have a buy-back clause on Lyon striker Mariano Diaz. The Dominican international left the Bernabeu in the summer but, while some reports in the Spanish media have claimed that Madrid can buy him back, the French club have confirmed there is no such clause. Diaz has seven goals in nine Ligue 1 appearances this season for Lyon but was injured for their 2-1 Europa League victory over Everton on Thursday night. (Marca)

AC Milan are interested in Barcelona winger Aleix Vidal. The former Sevilla man has grown disgruntled at a lack of opportunities at the Nou Camp and is open to a move away. The Rossoneri had considered making a bid for the 28-year-old in the summer, but opted for Atalanta's Andrea Conti instead. However, with Conti sidelined for several months after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament, Milan are keen to sign Vidal. (Calciomercato)

Former Chelsea midfielder Ramires has agreed terms with Inter Milan ahead of a January move. The 30-year-old Brazilian, currently playing for Chinese club Jiangsu Suning, will move on loan initially with an option to buy. The two clubs share the same Chinese owners. (La Gazzetta dello Sport)

France

Athletic Bilbao defender Aymeric Laporte has revealed why he did not move to the Premier League. The Manchester City and Chelsea target has established himself as one of the most sought-after defenders in Europe and had the chance to join City in the summer, revealing he did not feel as though it suited him and is happy at the Basque club. Borussia Dortmund are confident Germany international Marco Reus will not leave the club. The Arsenal transfer target hinted that he would be open to a new challenge during an interview last month, but sporting director Michael Zorc believes Reus will commit his long-term future with the Bundesliga club.

"We see Marco with us in the long run," Zorc said. Reus has not played this season as he continues his recovery from a cruciate ligament injury sustained at the end of last season. (Kicker)

Former Bayern Munich manager Ottmar Hitzfeld insists Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery can still play a role at the club. The veteran wingers are both out of contract at the end of the season and, although Bayern are thought to be looking for their long-term replacements, Hitzfeld believes they still have the quality to figure at the Allianz Arena. Bayern have discussed potential wingers to add to the squad, with Barcelona transfer target Julian Brandt of Bayer Leverkusen and PSG winger Julian Draxler both featuring prominently in the conversation.
