England have confirmed they will be based in the Russian village of Repino for the 2018 World Cup.

Repino is approximately 30 miles from St Petersburg and 87 miles from the border with Finland.

The draw for the 2018 World Cup in Russia will be shown live on Sky Sports News and Sky Sports Main Event from 3pm on Friday.

The manager travelled to Russia earlier this year to assess potential training bases and hotels, even before they secured qualification.

Southgate revealed England's choice of team hotel ticked most of the boxes he was looking for.

"It was quite, a long process actually," he said.

"The way it works is that FIFA pair a certain hotel with a certain training ground and you have to travel around and look at those different combinations.

Gareth Southgate has said he has no preferences over England's opponents at the World Cup draw in Moscow on Friday.

"For us, that (Repino) was the best option available taking into consideration travel, climate, quality of hotel, quality of training ground and distances.

"We had a long list of criteria - you never get 100% everything that in an ideal scenario you would have. So you have to compromise in certain areas.

"We are really happy with the base and looking forward to staying in that part of the country."

Chief News Reporter Bryan Swanson will be reporting from the Red Square in the build up to the World Cup draw, live on Sky Sports News from 8am.
