The transfer window opens in less than a month and clubs across Europe will be busy speaking to players and agents ahead of potential January deals.

So with the rumour-mill beginning to crank up, our friends at Football Whispers have scoured the European newspapers and websites to bring you all the latest news and gossip from the continent.

Italy

Inter Milan captain Mauro Icardi, who is a Real Madrid transfer target, is worth €200m (£176.6m), according to his agent and wife Wanda Nara. The Argentine has been fine form this season, scoring 15 goals in 14 matches for the Serie A giants. That has led to admiring glances from a host of top European sides and Nara says any club hoping to sign Icardi will find that he doesn't come cheap. (Corriere dello Sport)

Chelsea transfer target Alex Sandro could be allowed to leave Juventus in January after he was dropped for the 1-0 win over Napoli on Friday. The Blues pushed hard to sign the Brazilian in the summer but had several bids up to €70m (£61.8m) rejected by the Serie A champions. However, Sandro has struggled for form this season and Juventus could be willing to sell the left-back, who was also subject of Manchester City transfer rumours, for €60m (£52.9m) in January. AC Milan are considering selling Hakan Calhanoglu in January, less than six months after he arrived at the club in a €22m (£19.4m) deal from Bayer Leverkusen. Proposals are on the table from Turkish clubs and Milan may allow Calhanoglu to depart for Galatasaray or Fenerbahce if an offer of €24m (£21.1m) is made. (Corriere dello Sport)

Real Madrid have a €200m (£176.6m) war-chest to spend next summer, although they could enter the January transfer market to bring in reinforcements. Real's La Liga campaign has been disappointing and they sit fourth in the table, eight points behind leaders Barcelona. That stuttering form is a cause for concern and could mean Madrid accelerate their transfer plans by six months in order to get back on track. (Marca)

Gremio midfielder Arthur has fuelled further talk of a future move to Barcelona after being pictured wearing the Catalan club's shirt. The 21-year-old's contract has a £44.1m release clause and Barca were reportedly holding talks with his agent Jorge Machado on Friday in Brazil. (AS)

Schalke sporting director Christian Heidel has hinted the club may attempt to sign Chelsea defender Baba Rahman in January: "Is Baba ready to help us in the second half of the season? You have to see." The defender hasn't featured for the Blues this season as he recovers from a cruciate knee injury he sustained last term while on loan with the Bundesliga side. (Revier Sport)

Chelsea scouts have been keeping tabs on Thorgan Hazard, the younger brother of Blues star Eden. The Belgium international was on the books at Stamford Bridge between 2012 and 2015 but never made a senior appearance and spent much of his time out on loan. He was sold to Borussia Monchengladbach for €8m (£7.06m) in February 2015 but the Blues scouting team have been constantly watching his progress. (Bild)

PSG are still hoping to convince Lorenzo Callegari to sign a new contract with the club. The talented 19-year-old midfielder has made just one senior appearance for the Parisians and has yet to sign a new deal despite his current contract expiring at the end of the season. The Ligue 1 leaders believe Callegari may renew terms with the club and they would then loan him out for the second half of the campaign. However, it talks continue to drag on then PSG would consider selling the youngster in January instead of losing him for a nominal fee in the summer. (L'Equipe)
