SPAIN

With Javier Mascherano potentially on his way, Barcelona are keen to bring in a new central defender in the near future. Bayer Leverkusen's Jonathan Tah has emerged as the latest on their shortlist, alongside Real Sociedad's Inigo Martinez and Lazio's Stefan de Vrij. (Sport)

Everton striker Sandro Ramirez could be on his way in January having struggling to successfully replace Romelu Lukaku. It is reported that surprise La Liga contenders Valencia are keen to seal a loan move for the Spaniard. (Football Espana)

ITALY

Ivan Perisic, who was a Manchester United transfer target in the summer, has admitted that he stayed at Inter Milan after being convinced to do so by new boss Luciano Spalletti. The Croatia international winger has since scored seven league goals and set up six for team-mates to help his side to the top of Serie A. (Mediaset Premium)

Napoli are set to join Inter in the race to sign Bologna winger Simone Verdi in January. The two-footed wide man could arrive as part of a loan swap, with Adam Ounas going the other way in order to obtain more regular game time. (Calcionews24)

Carlo Ancelotti has stated his desire to return to club football, placing in doubt any notion that he will take over the Italy national team. "As I've said, my intention is to work at a club," he said. "I am not ruling out the idea of taking a national job at some point in the future." (Mediaset Premium)

Stuttgart are said to be closing in on a deal for young Argentine striker Maximiliano Romero. Velez Sarsfield president Sergio Rapisarda has stated that he is working to "complete the deal", meaning the 18-year-old could move to Germany soon. (Kicker)
