Watford have signed Pontus Dahlberg from IFK Gothenburg for an undisclosed fee.

The goalkeeper has signed a five-and-a-half-year deal at Vicarage Road and will be loaned back to IFK until the end of the 2017/18 season.

Dahlberg, 19, made his debut for Sweden in January, playing 90 minutes of their 1-1 draw with Estonia.

Dahlberg has also made seven appearances for his country's U21 side.

IFK finished 10th in the Allsvenskan - the 16-team Swedish top division - in 2017.

The 2018 season begins in April, meaning Dahlberg will only spend a few months back at IFK before he moves to Watford at the end of the English campaign.
