Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga says he was not scared of the reaction from fans on his return to the team after being the subject of Real Madrid transfer talk during January. The 23-year-old looked set to join the Spanish champions, but Zinedine Zidane repeatedly insisted he didn't need a goalkeeper and Arrizabalaga ended up signing a new deal with the Basque side.

Speaking after returning to action in his side's draw with Las Palmas, Arrizabalaga said: "I wasn't worried about the reception from the fans because I've always maintained the stance of not speaking about rumours. The fans have always been very good to me, and they were better than I could have imagined." (Marca)
