On Tuesday night, in the first of five live Championship matches this week, Aston Villa blew the promotion race wide open with a late 1-0 home win over Cardiff and on Wednesday we brought you Wolves moved a step closer to promotion as they beat Derby. On Thursday there was a goalless draw between Bradford and Shrewsbury in Sky Bet League One.

Here's what's coming your way...

Friday, April 13: Aston Villa v Leeds United, live on Sky Sports Football and Main Event from 7pm

Another crunch game for Aston Villa, who will want to keep their momentum up into the final weeks of the season whether they are still in the hunt for automatic promotion or resigned to a play-off place instead. Villa have not been beaten at home by Leeds since a Premier League clash in 2002.

Leeds' season is all but over but stability under Paul Heckingbottom will be a major priority for the club's manager, who was appointed in February but has won only two of his 11 games in charge. Thomas Christiansen was sacked with the club 10th in the table so the Yorkshireman will be wary of suffering a similar fate.

Saturday, April 14: Fulham v Brentford, live on Sky Sports Football from 5.15pm and Main Event from 5.30pm

Fulham have been in exceptional form and have started winning at the perfect time to mount a late challenge for an automatic promotion spot under Slavisa Jokanovic. A 20-match unbeaten streak, with 52 points taken from 60 available, has lifted them into promotion contention out of nowhere, and they have moved to step on Cardiff's coat-tails with only a few games remaining.

Brentford need some luck to find their way back into contention for a play-off spot, having hovered around the top 10 for much of the season, but not seriously flirted with the chasing pack. Defeat may likely curtail any hopes they have of reaching the top six for the first time since 2015.

Sunday, April 15: Wolves v Birmingham City, live on Sky Sports Football from 11.30am

If promotion is not already guaranteed, Wolves may be able to wrap it up against their West Midlands rivals in one of the sweetest ways possible. With only six defeats suffered all season Nuno's side have proven a largely unstoppable force in the Championship, and they have been inside the top two for almost all of the season.

Garry Monk, manager of Middlesbrough looks on prior to the Sky Bet Championship match between Millwall and Middlesbrough

Birmingham City have been revitalised under Garry Monk but are far from out of the woods, with relegation to the third tier still a realistic possibility. But their upturn in form since the former Swansea boss walked in has made them favourites to stay up, and an unlikely victory at their near neighbours would go even further towards securing that position.
