Crystal Palace will not be signing Mamadou Sakho on Deadline Day unless they meet Liverpool's £20m asking price, according to Sky sources.

Palace are interested in the former France captain after spending what could amount to £14m on Patrick van Aanholt earlier in the week.

Unverified pictures, purporting to show Sakho arriving at London's Euston station, began circulating on social media on Tuesday afternoon.

But any deal would cost Palace big money, with the Reds understood to be demanding £20m despite the fact he has not played a single game for their senior side this season after a summer row with management.

Sakho is also thought to want an increase on the £105,000 weekly wage he is currently getting at Anfield.

Southampton failed with a loan bid for the centre-half this month, and Liverpool's preference is for a permanent sale.
