Jurgen Klopp should attempt to buy England number one Joe Hart this summer to solidify Liverpool’s goalkeeping position, according to Ray Wilkins.
Hart is currently on loan with Serie A side Torino but is scheduled to return to his parent club Manchester City after the season, though his future at the Etihad remains uncertain under under Pep Guardiola.
Simon Mignolet is currently Liverpool's number one option and is expected to start the Merseyside derby on April 1 when Liverpool host Everton at Anfield, live on Sky Sports 1 HD.
But the Belgian international has struggled at times this season and was dropped for 10 Premier League matches earlier this season in favour on back-up Loris Karius before eventually regaining his place after the German made a series of errors.
Hart showed his quality with a world-class save against Germany to prevent Leroy Sane from scoring and Wilkins believes he would be an excellent addition for Liverpool.
"If I was Klopp I would certainly be going for him," Wilkins told Premier League Daily. "The save he made last night down to his left hand side was absolutely superb.
"He is obviously a very talented young man and I would like to see him back in England playing in the Premier League.
"Karius would probably stay if they were to bring in a top-quality goalkeeper but Mignolet probably sees himself as a number one so he would have to disappear."
