Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo thinks the club are right back on track after improved showings in their last two fixtures.

United had to endure a 4-0 thrashing at manager Jose Mourinho's former club Chelsea earlier this month but bounced back with a 1-0 win over local rivals Manchester City in the EFL Cup last week.

And, although United are eight points behind leaders City in the Premier League, Mourinho's men were unfortunate to be held to a 0-0 draw by Burnley on Saturday, having created a string of chances.

That result meant United achieved back-to-back clean sheets for the first time since August, and 2014 World Cup finalist Rojo has now established himself as a regular member of the back four.

And the Argentine told Sky Sports News HQ: "We are playing very well, certainly the last two matches.

"You can see that we are playing with a great intensity, throughout the whole of the match.

"Obviously, against City, we got the victory, and the last match, versus Burnley, we had 37 chances. A goal would have been the icing on the cake.

"That was the thing we needed and we didn't quite make it but I certainly think we are getting to the level where we can play as a team."

Rojo and his team-mates will now head for Turkey to take on Fenerbahce in the Europa League on Thursday before continuing their Premier League campaign at Swansea on Sunday.
