Manchester United and Real Madrid are in advanced talks over the transfer of David de Gea but no deal has been agreed, according to Sky sources.

De Gea has one year left on his contract at Old Trafford and has been heavily linked with a move to the Spanish giants all summer.

The price of any potential move has been a sticking point all summer, with United adamant they want a fair return for one of the world's top goalkeepers.

The 24-year-old has not featured in any of United's six competitive games so far this season. Van Gaal stated he was not in the right frame of mind to play, allowing Argentine Sergio Romero to deputise in his absence.

De Gea's potential arrival at the Bernabeu could see Costa Rica international Keylor Navas moving in the opposite direction.

Sky Sports' Spanish football expert Guillem Balague reported Real were happy to let Navas leave in order to land De Gea and United may be in the market for another goalkeeper if the deal gets done.
