Shakhtar Donetsk forward Alex Teixeira admits he's flattered to be linked with a move to Chelsea.

Earlier this month Shakhtar boss Mircea Lucescu said Teixeira would move on with his blessing but stressed there had been no official bids for the forward.

Teixeira, who is yet to win an international cap, believes he must move on from Shakhtar to give himself a better chance of securing a place in Dunga's Brazil squad.

And speaking to O Globo, the forward admitted he is pleased to be mentioned as a potential Chelsea target.

"It's great to have a club like Chelsea interested in me," Teixeira said. "I always try to do my job well and play to my best.

"Shakhtar Donetsk are not very big in Brazil, and I think I may need to move on to stand out and earn a place in the squad. That's my goal for 2016."
