Jurgen Klopp insists Liverpool have a "serious chance" of beating Borussia Dortmund in their upcoming Europa League clash.
The Anfield boss takes his side back to the club he managed for seven years next Thursday, for the first leg of their quarter-final meeting.
Dortmund are favourites to win the competition after comfortably seeing off Tottenham 5-1 on aggregate in the last round, but Klopp is convinced a last-four spot is well within Liverpool's capabilities.
"I wouldn't say we have a 100 per cent plan to beat Borussia Dortmund, but we are absolutely serious about the face that we could beat Borussia Dortmund," said the German.
"For that, we need a special day. When we are on our game, it's not easy to play against Liverpool."
It will be the first time Klopp has returned to Dortmund, where he won two Bundesliga titles and reached a Champions League final.
He accepts it will be a different kind of experience for him, but insists it will not have any effect on the players on the field.
"To concentrate on the game is usually very easy for me, but this time it will be more difficult. But I don't have to be on the pitch, so it will not have any influence on the team.
"It will be a very special game, I was the Borussia Dortmund manager for seven years. I was very lucky there.
"Since the beginning, it was a great time. I met fabulous people and most of them work for Borussia. Starting with the security - I know each of them.
"I met them for the games, training, press conferences - I think they will be happy to see me again."
