Norwich and Bristol City have both had £2.5m offers for young forward Sergi Canos accepted by Liverpool, Sky sources understand.

The 19-year-old thrived on a season-long loan in the Championship with Brentford last season and both the Bees and Fulham have also been interested in his signing.

The Spain U19 international scored seven goals in 39 appearances for Brentford and returned to Anfield to make his debut in the final game of the season, coming on as a late substitute in a 1-1 draw with West Brom.

Canos was expected to take part in Liverpool's pre-season but now faces a choice between Norwich, who were relegated from the Premier League, and Bristol City, who avoided relegation to League One.

Norwich are yet to make a signing this summer and recently sold winger Nathan Redmond to Southampton in a deal worth £11m.

Gary O'Neil has also left Norwich to join Bristol City, who have also signed Josh Brownhill from Preston North End.

Canos spent his youth with hometown club Nules before rejecting Valencia, Villarreal and Atletico Madrid to join Barcelona's famous La Masia academy in 2010.
