Liverpool are the latest club to be linked with a move for out-of-favour Real Madrid star James Rodriguez.

Spanish source Don Balon report that Rodriguez will leave Spain this summer and Jurgen Klopp is considering making a bid for the Colombian.

It's thought that £52million will need to spend big in order to land his signature, but the Reds will face competition from Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and AC Milan are also interested.

Southampton have asked the Premier League to investigate an alleged illegal approach from Liverpool for Virgil van Dijk, Sky sources understand.

A source at St Mary's has told Sky Sports News HQ that, although the club has concluded a number of transfers with Liverpool in recent years, they feel the Reds have overstepped the mark in trying to convince Van Dijk to move.
