All the latest Liverpool transfer news and rumours from across the British and European press on Thursday, July 13.
Liverpool have made a £25m offer for Atletico Madrid forward Angel Correa, according to a report in Spanish newspaper AS.
The report, which is also carried by The Sun, suggests Jurgen Klopp would offer the 22-year-old wages in excess of £2.4m a year to tempt him away from the Spanish capital.
Liverpool have also been linked with Gent winger Moses Simon, but would need to splash out £13m to secure his services, according to reports on Thursday.
The Daily Mail claims Brighton have had an £8.4m bid turned down for the player, who is also being watched by Tottenham.
Mohamed Salah and Dominic Solanke remain Liverpool's only signings so far this summer - and Gary and Phil Neville have said they need at least five new faces if they are to compete this season.
However, manager Klopp last night insisted he was happy with his transfer strategy.
"If any fans think, 'What are the other teams doing and why are we not doing anything', I can't help. Sorry," he said after a 4-0 victory over Tranmere in their first pre-season friendly.
"We cannot buy players because other teams buy players. We do our business as good as we can do it and we are convinced about the way we are going."
Klopp was also asked about the future of defender Mamadou Sakho, who was on loan at Crystal Palace last season and was not in the squad for last night's game.
The Liverpool boss said: "First of all he needs to get 100% fit and then we will see."
