Barcelona are prepared to spend £140m to finally land Philippe Coutinho, according to various reports.
The Mirror claims the Reds want most of the money up front and are keen to avoid a repeat of the summer where the base figure was low and had "unrealistic add-ons".
Liverpool are not chasing replacements for Coutinho at this stage and have made no contact with Monaco regarding summer target Thomas Lemar, reports The Telegraph. The paper says Anfield chiefs remain focused on convincing Coutinho he can achieve his Champions League ambitions at Liverpool - but, at the moment, are not succeeding in persuading him.
Liverpool could be in the driving seat to sign Leon Goretzka after relations between Schalke and Bayern Munich took a turn for the worse, reports the Daily Express. Schalke sporting director Christian Heidel has responded angrily to Bayern's confirmation of their interest in the 22-year-old.
Ben Woodburn is set to be reunited with former Wales boss Chris Coleman by sealing a loan move to Sunderland, says the Daily Express.
