Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka has insisted he will never change his aggressive playing style, despite picking up eight red cards since 2014.
The Switzerland international was sent off in the Gunners' win against Swansea in October, which earned him a three-match suspension, and gave away a penalty against Stoke City earlier this month.
He has also picked up three bookings this season with Wenger telling the 24-year-old to learn from his sending off against Swansea.
But speaking ahead of the West Brom game on Boxing Day, Xhaka said he will not change his game.
"I wouldn't change myself for anybody. I am who I am, people accept me or they don't," Xhaka said.
"I have my strengths and my weaknesses which I can try to improve upon, of course. I'm still not the finished product. I'm only 24 so I've got plenty of time to keep improving."
Xhaka joined Arsenal for a fee in the region of £30m last summer from German side Borussia Monchengladbach.
He has been a regular starter in recent weeks after Wenger eased him into the team slowly.
And he believes the cards he has been picking up is part of his game and is not a cause for concern.
"I've picked up quite a few yellow cards in the last few years, a few reds too. That was the case as a youth player as it is now," Xhaka said.
"But I don't see it as a problem. That's how I play. If you take that away then I wouldn't be where I am now. So I don't think the yellow cards or the red cards are too big of an issue."
