Arsene Wenger has denied claims he and Mathieu Debuchy do not speak, and says the Frenchman is frustrated at the Emirates.
In a recent interview the defender, who has missed most of the season with a thigh injury, said the odd "hello" was his only communication with Wenger.
But Wenger refuted that claim on Friday in his press conference ahead of the Nissan Super Sunday clash with Crystal Palace, and also said talk of a move to Old Trafford was "untrue."
Debuchy spent the second half of last season on loan with Bordeaux but, due to a series of injuries, has only played 13 Premier League games for the Gunners since his arrival from Newcastle before the start of the 2014-15 season.
"We speak," Wenger said when asked about the Debuchy article.
"There is communication with all the players. It's a little bit of a frustrated article from a player who is injured.
"When you are injured you cannot play. I gave him the opportunity to go to Bordeaux on loan last year but nobody came in for him over the summer - not Fiorentina or Espanyol. Some things in the article are not true.
"You have to take this article with a bit of distance.
"Manchester United didn't make an offer for him. That is untrue. It is surprising to hear something like that."
