Arsenal are in talks with Norwegian side Rosenborg over a deal for teenager Sverre Nypan.
A number of other clubs are thought to be interested in the 18-year-old attacking midfielder.
The teenager, who also represents Norway at U21 level, made 28 appearances for Rosenborg during last season's Eliteserien, which ran from March to December 2024, scoring eight and registering seven assists.
Nypan became the youngest player to represent Rosenborg at 15 years and 322 days when he made his debut against Jerv in 2022.
He later became the youngest player to score in a league match for the Norwegian side, at 16 years and 145 days old.

Atleti and Dortmund remain interested in Zinchenko
Atletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund both remain interested in signing Oleksandr Zinchenko from Arsenal this week.
Arsenal would look at offers given he has only 18 months left on his contract.
The Gunners have good depth at left-back following the emergence of Myles Lewis-Skelly and the ability of Riccardo Calafiori to also play there.
Kieran Tierney has returned to fitness but his future is also up in the air going into the final days of the window.
The left-back has been in talks over a pre-contract with Celtic for the summer.
