Reading have secured their first summer signing, with Barnsley captain Andy Yiadom joining the club on a four-year deal.

The Ghana international right-back will become a member of Paul Clement's squad when his deal with the Tykes concludes at the end of June.

Yiadom had been with Barnsley, who were relegated from the Championship, since the summer of 2016, having previously played for Hayes & Yeading, Braintree and Barnet.

His form with Barnsley also earned him a first Ghana call-up at the end of 2016, and he made his international debut in their Africa Cup of Nations defeat by Egypt in early 2017.

Clement said: "I'm very happy that Andy is joining Reading as my first signing.

"He is someone that I've known for a while, and whose progress I was tracking when I was at Swansea.

"Andy comes here with good experience of the Championship - he's a good age at 26, and he has the right desires and ambitions which will help us to move forward with this club."
