Tottenham are prepared to sell Tom Carroll this month and are listening to offers for the midfielder, Sky sources understand.

The 24-year-old has made only three appearances for Spurs this season, despite extending his contract until 2019 last year.

Swansea were in talks with Spurs about signing Carroll, who is a product of Tottenham's academy and previously spent a season on loan at the Swans.

Mauricio Pochettino says developing young players remains a priority for him

Carroll is the only Tottenham player expected to leave this month, with boss Mauricio Pochettino preferring to keep his best youngsters training and travelling with the first-team for their development.

It is understood the club recently turned down an approach from an unnamed club for young full-back Kyle Walker-Peters.

Carroll broke through the Spurs academy himself, making his debut in 2011, and he has gone on to make 56 appearances in total, scoring three goals.
